Marks and report card
Marks by term and by subject, with the school’s own scale and grade descriptors. The PDF report card is available as soon as the school publishes it.
School life and families
With the Escola360 app, families follow marks, absences, homework, announcements and tuition fees using the same figures the school has in its system, and talk to the school without leaving home. The app is part of the school’s licence, so families pay nothing to use it.
When information exists only in the school office, every question from a parent turns into a phone call, a queue or a trip to the school. And those who work far away always find things out too late.
Marks by term and by subject, with the school’s own scale and grade descriptors. The PDF report card is available as soon as the school publishes it.
Absences appear the same day. The family justifies an absence with the reason and the medical certificate attached, and the school replies.
What needs doing and by when, subject by subject. The family keeps up with the child’s studies without relying on the exercise book.
School notices arrive with a notification on the phone and stay in the app, alongside the timetable and the school year calendar.
Parents talk to the school office, the treasury or the class teacher inside the app, without exchanging personal numbers.
The fee plan, what has been paid and what is outstanding. Families pay by M-Pesa or e-Mola, the payment is recognised automatically by the school and the receipt appears in the app.
School letters and certificates requested from the phone, with the price and turnaround time in view, and downloaded when they are ready.
Online pre-registration for a new child and re-enrolment are done at home, on the school’s own form.
The family leaves a complaint or a suggestion, follows the reply and rates the school and their child’s teachers.
Sick bay visits, incidents and commendations with an "Acknowledged" confirmation, books on loan and the clubs the child takes part in.
The Escola360 app runs on Android and iOS and can carry each school’s logo and colours, so that families recognise their school on every screen. It is included in the school’s licence: families pay nothing to install it or to use it.
Students also have their own app, with the timetable, marks, homework and announcements that concern them. The parent keeps track, the student organises their day, and both see the same information as the school.
Mrs Muianga works in the city centre and leaves home before her children wake up. On Monday, her eldest daughter misses school with a fever. That evening, the mother opens the Escola360 app, justifies the absence and attaches a photo of the medical certificate. While she is there, she checks the Maths homework and asks the class teacher, through the chat, when the next test is.
On Wednesday, she receives a notification: the announcement about the parents’ meeting. The same day, she pays the October tuition fee by M-Pesa. She does not take proof of payment anywhere: the school recognises the payment and the receipt appears in the app, ready to send to the HR department at her company.
Her youngest son attends another school that also uses Escola360. With one tap, she switches child and sees his marks for the term. By the time the parents’ meeting comes round, she already knows what she wants to talk about.
Nwananga Christian School, from preschool to secondary, has run its management on Escola360 for nine years.
“Going digital reinforced what we have always demanded of ourselves: quality, transparency and closeness to families. More than adopting Escola360, we had the opportunity to take part in building it, contributing our experience to the development of a solution aligned with the reality of schools in Mozambique. Today, the platform is part of how our school runs every day, and it is a solution I recommend to other school leaders looking to make their management more efficient, organised and modern.”Oelza Massinga · Principal, Nwananga Christian School
